Piccolo n., pl. –los. 1. a small flute, sounding an octave higher than the ordinary flute. 2. a single espresso shot in a 100ml cup which is then filled with steamed milk. This results in a 90ml drink, with a 1:2 ratio of coffee to steamed milk.
Piccolo’s is literally a one-stop coffee shop - you can sip coffees, buy beans or ground to order, watch roasting taking place, check out the range of barista supplies available (tampers, shakers, cups, brushes, detergents), try some choc-covered coffee beans, as well as a range of teas. And of course, if you are hungry, there are plenty of home-baked goodies available - fresh baguettes, sandwiches, toasted Turkish, soups of the day and the best local (Timboon) gourmet ice cream…
